To check for updates, just bookmark this link or visit the main page of our website, where there's also a link. There are many other features, sermons, commentaries, photos and videos -- even cartoons -- on various websites. Never has a Lambeth Conference been so accessible to us non-bishops. Delight in the diversity of this Anglican Communion during the next 10 days. There are some links below to help. Editor Nan Ross ON A MISSION
Malaria claims a young life touched by missionaries
Our missionaries in Tanzania reported some sad news this week. A message from Dr. Martin McCann tells the tragic story of his young namesake, Martin Nyemo Mazengo, who lived only seven months before before being struck with malaria.
You may read Dr. McCann's story here and view photographs of little Martin's baptism, performed in April by the Rev. Sandra McCann and attended by another of our missionaries, Magi Griffin. The funeral, where Sandra preached the sermon, was "all very moving, very beautiful, and very sad," McCann said.
Something to think about: In memory of little Martin, a donation to award-winning Nets for Life.
To learn more about how the
Episcopal Church partners in the fight against malaria through the
Nets for Life program and to make a
donation in memory of Baby Martin, click here. (A tip:To donate, click on
the "donate" button on left menu, then scroll down to Nets for Life
option when choosing where to focus your donation.)

Join the virtual march! Anglican bishops, spouses to march Thursday through central London for MDGs
More than 600
Anglican bishops, their spouses and other faith leaders from around the United
Kingdom will march on Thursday through central London on a Walk of Witness.
The march is designed as a symbolic moment of solidarity and
coming together for the fulfillment of the Millennium Development Goals to
reflect to the world God's desire for justice and concern for the poor.
Now you can "march" with the bishops online and in
your congregation. Episcopalians for Global Reconciliation and the Episcopal
Public Policy Network have a created a way to join our efforts with those of
the bishops in London to bring attention to our desire -- and ability -- to
impact the world for positive change.
A number of parishes in our dioceses have registered as
participants in the virtual march. Our missionaries in Tanzania - Magi Griffin,
the Rev. Sandra McCann and Dr. Martin McCann - will be taking part too along
with the staff of the Diocese of Central Tanganyika. For more information, click

Reflection: EYE provides time for renewal By Hallie Wells
E.Y.E. (the Episcopal Youth Event held last week in San Antonio,
Texas) was the most renewing experience I have had in a very long time.
The theme for the week was "Sown in the Heart of Christ" and
followed the parable Jesus told about seeds being sown on different
soils. We discussed how we could be rocky soil, paths, or good soil
when the seed, the message of Christ, is given to us. > more

St. Francis' Christmas in July will help to fund various projects for parish
It will be "Christmas in July"
from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at St. Francis', Macon. Instead of giving
gifts to each other, participants will give gifts to the parish.
The parish's stewardship and fellowship committees have been developing
a comprehensive list of items the church needs. Some of the needs are service
projects, and others are specific physical things, according to Tammy Pallot.
On Sunday afternoon, parishioners will come together to play, eat, drink
and be merry while looking over the gift list. If a person or family wants to
give one of the items on the list, they take the ornament with the description,
sign their name, and place it on the tree in the parish hall.
Other activities will include snowball fights, a melted snow slide,
Christmas karaoke, Christmas cookies, homemade ice cream and more. For those
who wish to stay dry, there will be a no-snow zone.
